Processing of your personal data
Here you can read about how we process your personal data when you use the SafeCircle application ("SafeCircle"). SafeCircle is a digital safety app and safety network that helps users call for help, share their location and document incidents through audio and video recording. SafeCircle is a community of MitID-verified members, family and friends who can help and document when it matters most.

Under Article 13 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we must give you certain information when we receive information from you in connection with your use of SafeCircle.
We are the data controller – how do you contact us?
SafeCircle ApS, company reg. no. (CVR) 46438302 ("SafeCircle") is the data controller for the processing of the personal data that SafeCircle receives about you. You are always welcome to contact us if you have questions. Our contact details are:
Purposes and legal basis for processing your personal data
We process your personal data in order to provide SafeCircle to you as a safety app and safety network. In the table below you can read more about how SafeCircle processes personal data.

| When you use SafeCircle as a safety app and safety network | The purpose of processing personal data is to provide a function where you can use SafeCircle's features, including - create a network of friends, family, acquaintances, colleagues or other users of the app, - activate SOS, share your device's position and record video and audio, when the device's permissions and operation allow it, - that the user's friends in SafeCircle receive a notification when the SOS alarm is activated, as long as members of the user's network are within the EU/EEA, - that helpers can define a radius of between 200 metres and 10 kilometres in which they will respond to SOS alarms activated by a user, - that helpers can receive a notification if an SOS alarm from a device within the helper's radius is activated, - send a notification to a user's closest members that an alarm has been activated, - give the recording user access to, and the ability to share, their own uploaded recordings within - that the user can start a "On my way home" trip, where the user's position and destination are shared with the friends the user has chosen, - that users can chat with each other and receive notifications about new messages; - that the user can share their last known position with a specific friend (off by default); - that users can find each other via phone number, SafeCircle name, QR code or invitation link in order to send a friend request; - that users can report, and SafeCircle can process reports of, offensive content and enforce blocks. |
For this purpose we process information about your user profile and your network of family, friends and others you have added. Through the recording function and the context that appears in pictures, video and audio in which you as a user may appear, we may come to process other types of personal data – for example, you may be in a vulnerable situation that is recorded and stored on your device. |
Ordinary personal data about SafeCircle users: GDPR Art. 6(1)(a), as users consent to the processing of personal data when signing up for SafeCircle. Consent can be withdrawn at any time by deleting the SafeCircle app. Personal data not covered by the consent is processed under GDPR Art. 6(1)(b), under which SafeCircle has an agreement with the user to provide SafeCircle. SafeCircle does not have the processing of sensitive personal data as an independent purpose, but through the recording function may process personal data worthy of protection about users who may be in a vulnerable situation. This personal data about users is processed under GDPR Art. 6(1)(a), as users consent to the processing of personal data when signing up for SafeCircle. Consent can be withdrawn at any time by deleting the SafeCircle app. And where sensitive personal data occasionally appears in recordings, processing takes place under GDPR Art. 9(2)(f), cf. Art. 6(1)(a) for users. Consent can be withdrawn at any time by deleting SafeCircle. |

The legitimate interest is balanced against the fact that you as a passer-by only appear occasionally, by chance or in the background, that recordings are made in public spaces, that there is a short retention period and that there is a legitimate consideration to be shown to persons who use the SafeCircle safety app and safety network in vulnerable situations. Recipients of your personal data
Within the purposes set out in the table above, SafeCircle may disclose your personal data to recipients among public authorities, external advisers and data processors. Disclosure to data processors includes, for example, the producers of the IT systems that SafeCircle uses. This covers development and operation of the SafeCircle safety app and safety network, software, hosting, backup and support.
Transfers to recipients in third countries, including international organisations
We do not sell, publish or otherwise pass on your personal data to others, unless:
it is necessary for us to be able to perform our service towards you. We cooperate with selected and trusted partners, which include our group companies and data processors both inside and outside the EU.
it is necessary for us to comply with the law, or
you have given us your consent to do so.
SafeCircle does not transfer personal data to third countries. The processing of personal data is organised so that personal data is stored and processed within the EU/EEA. If SafeCircle at a later point needs to transfer personal data to a third country, the transfer will only take place in accordance with Chapter V of the GDPR and on the basis of a valid transfer basis. This may, for example, be the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), an adequacy decision adopted by the European Commission or another lawful transfer basis. In such cases, transfers to the USA will be supported by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which establishes an adequate level of protection for personal data transferred from the EU to the USA.
You are welcome to contact SafeCircle if you would like a list of recipients in countries outside the EU/EEA.
Where does your personal data come from?
All the personal data processed by SafeCircle comes from you or from the material collected through SafeCircle.
Retention of information about you
SafeCircle keeps personal data on the basis of the processing activities and purposes described in the table above.
Your rights
Under the data protection rules you have a number of rights. You are welcome to contact SafeCircle if you are interested in exercising these rights. You will find SafeCircle's contact details at the top of this document.
